Bentonite has so many colors, does it have any impact on its performance

Bentonite is sticky in performance and has its own solidification effect. It has been widely used in the chemical industry and construction industry, especially in drilling oil fields, engineering crossing, fertilizer, agriculture, chemicals, pigments and other industries. Later, with the continuous development and extension of performance, it has also been widely used in the casting industry.

Bentonite is a non-metallic mineral with montmorillonite as the main mineral component. The montmorillonite structure is a 2:1 type crystal structure composed of two silicon oxygen tetrahedrons sandwiched with a layer of aluminum oxide octahedron. Because the layered structure formed by montmorillonite cell has some cations, such as Cu, Mg, Na, K, etc., and the role of these cations with montmorillonite cell is very unstable, easy to be exchanged by other cations, it has good ion exchange ability. It has been applied in more than 100 departments in 24 fields of industrial and agricultural production abroad. From this, it can be seen that the color of bentonite is different, and the minute molecular components it contains are also different. It is precisely the different content of these components that leads to the different uses and natural values of different colored bentonite.

Activated clay

Activated clay is an adsorbent made from clay (mainly bentonite) as raw material, which is subjected to inorganic acidification treatment, followed by water rinsing and drying. Its appearance is milky white powder, odorless, tasteless, and has strong adsorption performance. It can adsorb colored and organic substances.

Bentonite is a non-metallic mineral with montmorillonite as the main mineral component

The chemical composition of montmorillonite is (Al2, Mg3) Si4O10OH2 · nH2O. Because of its special properties, such as swelling, cohesiveness, adsorption, catalysis, thixotropy, suspension and cation exchange, it is widely used in various industrial fields.
